This role supports remote work, with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific time zone.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary expert and first point of contact for clients, addressing a diverse range of inquiries related to coverage, eligibility, contractual matters, and compliance with government reporting. Prepare endorsements as requested by clients and consistently provide updates on resources, trends, and legal changes. Routine inquiries may be delegated.
  • For both new and renewal business, evaluate pertinent client data (such as census and experience data, and contractual insurance requirements), conduct market analysis by reviewing insurance rates and renewal information, and obtain quotes. Collaborate with clients, typically senior executives and managers, to strategize and recommend coverage options and exclusions; work alongside Producers to negotiate premium and commission rates to secure optimal alternatives.
  • Support marketing and new business development initiatives for producers, which includes crafting presentations and proposals, and participating in meetings with potential clients as part of a collaborative team;
    Engage in marketing and business development for the employee's portfolio of clients.
  • Delegate administrative tasks to appropriate staff and oversee their execution.
Service Responsibilities

• Assist the Marketing team with the input and upkeep of the Agency Management System and/or PS4

• Gather missing information from the Producer/Account Manager Team along with loss information requests (including necessary follow-ups)

• Possess advanced knowledge of carrier websites for application detail input

• Analyze policies, coverages, and client operations to prepare data for insurance renewal options, advising on the best alternatives;

• Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to secure the best available premiums, commissions, and coverage;

• Prepare presentations for clients

• Collaborate with other teams and provide assistance as needed

• Work independently and efficiently to resolve issues or enhance service promptly

• Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks and demands

• Ensure expert knowledge is consistently maintained

Marketing Responsibilities

• Prepare applications for submission to carriers (or marketing manager for larger clients), including coverage analysis

• Negotiate with carriers for optimal premiums, commissions, and coverage;

• Conduct sales presentations as necessary;

Personal and Professional Development

• Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure all objectives are met;

• Foster positive and effective relationships with clients, colleagues, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts;

• Maintain up-to-date proposals, workflow logs, and documentation in the agency management system;

• Communicate effectively with others, providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the company's business goals;

• Stay informed about industry trends, new product developments, coverages, legislation, and technology to continuously enhance knowledge and performance;

• Actively participate in community organizations;

• Present a professional image in both actions and appearance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May oversee the Assistant Account Manager and/or Administrative Assistant roles.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of Property Casualty lines of coverage and services;

• Ability to identify problems and respond appropriately;

• Capable of analyzing situations logically to draw sound conclusions;

• Advanced experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage and maintain assigned clients and prospects;

• Proficient in navigating the Internet and various Microsoft Office applications, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel;

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills;

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively;

• Capable of working independently and efficiently, both with and without direct supervision;

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to manage Account Management staff and workflow

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

5-10 years of experience in a mid-sized brokerage

• Proficient in various Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks and demands.

• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. This position requires teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• California Property and Casualty License required;

Valid Driver License required.
