Position Overview

The Food and Beverage Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service by promptly serving food and drinks to guests in various dining areas, including the restaurant, bar, and outdoor patio. This role is under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and attend to guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.
  • Foster a warm environment by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the dining facility and menu offerings, while enthusiastically sharing information about additional resort amenities.
  • Accurately take orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Serve food and beverages, ensuring adherence to service etiquette and operational protocols.
  • Engage with guests throughout their dining experience to ensure their needs are met and service remains exceptional.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, following guidance from the Lead Server or Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Identify and report any safety concerns or customer issues to a supervisor.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for alcohol service.
  • Process cash and card transactions, ensuring accuracy in charges and providing correct change.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One to three months of relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Must meet the legal age requirements for serving alcohol.
  • Possession of a current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification is required.
  • Ability to understand and apply dining standards effectively.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating discounts.
  • Contributes positively to a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to read and follow simple instructions and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Attention to detail and comfort in a dynamic work setting are essential.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Work Environment

This role is primarily situated in an indoor dining setting, but may also involve outdoor service during events, exposing employees to varying weather conditions. The work environment can be noisy, and may require navigating through crowded areas.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements of this position include regular visual, auditory, and verbal communication. The role is highly active, necessitating prolonged periods of standing and walking. Employees must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds, as well as perform tasks that require bending and reaching.
