Position Overview:

The Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at The University of Vermont Health Network is in search of a board eligible or board certified Physiatrist to join our esteemed faculty. This full-time role offers the opportunity to serve as an assistant, associate, or full professor on the clinical scholar pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting focused on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
  • Participate in shared weekend and holiday coverage with a team of six experienced physicians.
  • Provide acute care consultations and manage outpatient prosthetic and orthotic needs.
  • Collaborate directly with Orthopaedic specialists across various disciplines.
Clinical Focus:

This role encompasses a wide range of outpatient PM&R services, including:

  • General PM&R and post-acute care follow-up.
  • Management of spasticity patients, including botulinum toxin treatments.
  • Spinal cord injury rehabilitation and general musculoskeletal PM&R.
  • Electromyography (EMG) studies and concussion/traumatic brain injury management, depending on individual expertise.
Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a strong interest in comprehensive PM&R and demonstrate a commitment to teaching and academic excellence.
