Position Overview:

The Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine is actively seeking a board eligible or board certified Physiatrist for a full-time role as assistant, associate, or full professor on the clinical scholar pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering patient care in an outpatient setting focused on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
  • Engaging in resident and medical student education.
  • Participating in shared weekend and holiday cross-coverage with a team of six physicians.
  • Providing acute care consultations and managing outpatient prosthetic and orthotic needs.
  • Collaborating directly with Orthopaedic specialists across various disciplines.
Clinical Focus:

This role encompasses a wide range of outpatient PM&R services, including:

  • General PM&R and post-acute care follow-up.
  • Care for spasticity patients, including botox treatment.
  • Management of spinal cord injuries and general musculoskeletal PM&R.
  • EMG studies and concussion/TBI management based on individual skills and experience.
Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a strong interest in comprehensive PM&R and demonstrate a commitment to teaching. The University of Vermont Medical Center serves as a level I trauma and tertiary referral center, providing an excellent environment for clinical and basic science research.
