Position Overview:

The Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine is in search of a board eligible or board certified Physiatrist for a full-time role. This position is available at the assistant, associate, or full professor level on the clinical scholar pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care in an outpatient setting.
  • Engage in teaching residents and medical students.
  • Participate in shared weekend and holiday cross-coverage with a team of six physicians.
  • Opportunities for acute care consultations and management of prosthetic/orthotic needs.

Located within a specialized orthopaedic and rehabilitation facility, the role encompasses a variety of outpatient services, including:

  • General Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
  • Post-acute care follow-up
  • Care for spasticity patients, including botox treatments
  • Management of spinal cord injuries
  • General musculoskeletal PM&R
  • Electromyography (EMG) studies
  • Concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI) management, based on skills and experience

Collaboration:
Direct collaboration with orthopaedic specialists across various fields is readily available, enhancing the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a strong interest in comprehensive Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and demonstrate a commitment to teaching.
