Position Overview:

The Steely Group is seeking a dedicated Process Development Associate to enhance our laboratory operations on a contractual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Management:

  • Facilitate the organization and boost the efficiency of the laboratory by implementing 5S methodologies.
  • Assist in the management and tracking of work orders related to facility and equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Engage in routine laboratory cleanout sessions and safety inspections.

Equipment Oversight:

  • Support the scheduling of preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair services for laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain process-related instruments, automation tools, and reactor equipment, ensuring adequate supplies of parts and consumables.

Inventory and Logistics Management:

  • Order and organize laboratory reagents and consumables to facilitate experimental processes.
  • Generate necessary purchase orders and shipping documentation for chemicals and equipment.
  • Assist with the logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments of laboratory tools and materials.

Cell Culture Support:

  • Conduct sampling and passage of mammalian cell cultures for growth and metabolite analysis.
  • Operate 3L glass bioreactors in various modes.
  • Utilize related equipment such as cell counters and metabolite analyzers.
  • Document experimental findings in laboratory notebooks as required.
  • Provide weekend assistance for ongoing operations when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 0 years with a relevant Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years with an Associate's degree, or 4+ years with a high school diploma.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with cell culture or purification tasks, is essential.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software and databases.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
