Position Overview

Industrial Maintenance Specialist

The Industrial Maintenance Specialist operates with a degree of autonomy, employing a multi-skilled approach to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various equipment and building systems.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance tasks, including inspecting motors, drives, and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and performing other predictive maintenance activities.
  • Identifies mechanical issues and determines corrective actions, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
  • Executes repairs on machinery, equipment, or building systems using precision measuring instruments and electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Installs and repairs electrical components, including transformers, wiring, and other machinery-related electrical and electronic parts.
  • Removes defective parts from machines, equipment, or devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools, while providing support for die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll forming equipment. Installs, programs, and repairs automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools, including lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torches or welding equipment as necessary.
  • Actively engages in continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action processes.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in the work area, adhering to 5-S principles and performing other assigned duties.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the ACT WorkKeys Assessment at the certified job profile skill level.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance, or a combination of technical school education, craft certification, or completion of maintenance skills/craft courses alongside experience in industrial maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a relevant technical school qualification.
  • Over 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, machinist, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with drawing software such as AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and designing and fabricating parts.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or robotics.
