Electrical Maintenance Specialist
Operating with a degree of autonomy, the Electrical Maintenance Specialist is a versatile technician skilled in various trades, responsible for the installation, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facility systems.
- Conducts routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting motors, drives, and belts, monitoring fluid levels, changing filters, and performing other predictive maintenance duties.
- Identifies mechanical issues and formulates solutions, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
- Repairs machinery, equipment, or facility systems using precision measuring tools and electrical or electronic testing devices.
- Installs and maintains electrical devices, including transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery.
- Disassembles and repairs machinery to replace defective components, employing hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Provides assistance with die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll forming equipment. Installs, programs, and maintains automated systems such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools, including lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Utilizes cutting torches or welding equipment as necessary.
- Actively engages in continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action processes.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in the work area, adhering to 5-S principles and performing other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys Assessment at the certified job profile skill level.
- At least 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance, or a combination of technical school education, craft certification, and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related technical field.
- Over 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist, or similar disciplines.
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and fabricating parts.
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and robotics.
