Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled Riggers and Machinery Movers who hold a valid Class A license. The ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment focused on the safe setup, loading, and transportation of heavy machinery. Effective communication with team members and adherence to state health and safety regulations are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with dispatch to clarify job requirements and daily objectives.
  • Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
  • Assess and prepare loads for transport.
  • Determine appropriate lifting methods for each task.
  • Select and prepare the necessary rigging equipment.
  • Inspect rigging gear prior to use.
  • Safely load and unload trucks, ensuring secure transport.
  • Set up, align, and level heavy machinery as required.
  • Utilize various equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes effectively.
  • Identify weights and center of gravity for lifting operations.
  • Transport equipment to designated work areas.
  • Uncrate materials using power tools as needed.
  • Wrap and secure equipment for safe transport.
  • Prepare job sites by moving floor coverings and setting up as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and return tools to their proper locations.
  • Communicate effectively with all on-site personnel, including rigging and engineering teams.
  • Disassemble rigging equipment and perform post-operation inspections.
  • Conduct ongoing inspections of equipment and address any maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Punctually clock in and out for each shift.
  • Provide regular updates to dispatch during assignments.
  • Complete required safety training and maintain certifications.
  • Exhibit professionalism at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Valid Class A CDL and DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record and accident history.
  • Previous experience with forklifts and/or ability to obtain certification.
  • Proficiency in navigating computer systems for operational tasks.
  • Strong work history with a focus on safety.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and the machinery moving industry.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and safety-conscious attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Capability to maneuver heavy equipment.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
