Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled Riggers and Machinery Movers holding a Class A license. Candidates must thrive in a collaborative setting focused on the safe setup, loading, and transportation of heavy machinery. Responsibilities include working alongside team members to efficiently receive, load, and deliver machinery while adhering to state health and safety regulations. A foundational understanding of rigging techniques and equipment is essential, including chains, binders, ratchet straps, and the operation of forklifts, overhead lifts, jacks, rollers, hoists, and other rigging tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding job details and daily assignments.
  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
  • Prepare and inspect loads for transportation.
  • Determine appropriate lifting methods for each project.
  • Select and prepare the necessary rigging equipment.
  • Inspect rigging gear prior to use.
  • Safely load and unload trucks, ensuring secure transport.
  • Set up, align, and level heavy machinery.
  • Utilize various equipment including cranes, jacks, and forklifts as required.
  • Assess weights and identify the center of gravity for items being lifted.
  • Transport equipment to and from designated work areas.
  • Uncrate materials using power tools as needed.
  • Wrap and secure equipment for transport.
  • Prepare job sites and manage floor coverings as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas and return tools to their proper locations.
  • Engage in effective communication with rigging teams, construction personnel, and clients.
  • Disassemble rigging equipment and perform post-job inspections.
  • Conduct ongoing equipment inspections and manage repairs as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Punctually report for scheduled shifts and clock in/out appropriately.
  • Provide updates to dispatch during operations.
  • Complete required safety training and maintain certifications.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all work-related interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience as a Driver/Rigger/Machinery Mover.
  • Valid Class A CDL License and DOT medical card or ability to obtain.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record and accident history.
  • Forklift experience preferred; certification may be required.
  • Proficient in using computer programs for training and operational tasks.
  • Strong work history and reliability.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
  • Understanding of logistics or machinery moving practices.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and moving equipment effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and safety-conscious attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy equipment safely.
  • Willingness to perform tasks involving frequent bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
