Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Blood Collection Staff to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a Blood Collection Staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team to transport and set up equipment at blood collection sites in local communities.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the donation process.
  • Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals.
  • Utilize your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process.

As a Blood Collection Staff, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, interacting with donors and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to donors, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and quality of blood donations, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with our team to achieve our mission of providing lifesaving blood products to those in need.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • DOT certification may be required in some locations.
