Job Title: Laboratory Phlebotomist

Tennessee Oncology, a leading cancer care specialist, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Phlebotomist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Laboratory Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting patient specimens for laboratory testing. This involves following proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals, as well as maintaining accurate records and inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clean venipunctures and capillary collections
  • Follow proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory levels
  • Identify and correct problems that may affect test performance or reporting of test results
  • Document all corrective actions taken
Requirements:
  • Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant with 2 years of clinical lab experience preferred
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required
  • High school diploma required
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing: Frequently
  • Walking: Occasionally
  • Sitting: Occasionally
  • Fingering or manual dexterity: Frequently
  • Lifting or exerting force: Up to 25 pounds
