Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Technician to join our team at Windstream Communications. As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing network systems, including voice, data, and video equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine installation, maintenance, and repair activities for network systems
  • Presents and conducts self in a professional manner; promotes positive company image to the public
  • Completes post-installation tests for call processing functionality and AMA testing
  • Performs monthly routine maintenance tasks
  • Coordinates central office translations activities
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications voice and data networks
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, components, and applications
  • Ability to distinguish colors in use of color-coded cable
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and use equipment with maximum load capacity of 275 lb
  • Capable of working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Basic math and PC skills
  • Must successfully complete required safety training
  • Able to work assigned schedules and extended hours including day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours
  • Able to respond to after-hour call-outs
Work Environment

This is a safety-sensitive position. The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, sitting, driving, climbing, bending, pushing-pulling, carrying, reaching above head, lifting-lowering, and repetitive hand action.

The employee will be exposed to cold, heat, dampness, heights, vibration, skin irritants, lung irritants, dust, and fumes/gases.

The employee will use test equipment, ladders, climbing hooks, hand and power tools, and vans.

This position requires a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
