The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach lower-level economics courses, either online or face-to-face. The primary responsibility of this position will be teaching a one-semester survey course in microeconomics and/or macroeconomics.
Key Responsibilities- Teach economics classes as needed, utilizing effective teaching methods and materials.
- Attend program meetings as determined by the program coordinator, ensuring collaboration and communication with colleagues.
- Adhere to university, college, and school policies regarding teaching practices and job performance, maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity.
- Respond promptly to communication from students, staff, and administration, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Hold regular office hours, providing students with opportunities for guidance and support.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the program coordinator or department chair, contributing to the overall success of the program.
- Master's degree in Economics or a related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Economics.
- Graduate degree in Economics is preferred, along with experience in online teaching and proficiency in Canvas.
