Tax Staff Accountant

We're seeking a detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Tax Team at Spindrift, the biggest small brand in beverage.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a collaborative team-based environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee timely and accurate state sales tax filings prepared by a 3rd party
- Review and resolve state tax and regulatory notices as needed
- Manage and maintain exemption certificates for all customers, including new customer set up
- Collaborate with the AP department throughout the year to determine which vendors should receive 1099s
- Assist with various regulatory reporting and compliance
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure state bottle bill compliance
- Assist with tax/regulatory audits as needed
- Provide 3rd party preparers with income tax request lists for tax returns and tax provision calculations
- Review Federal, State, and/or local income and sales tax returns
- Coordinate tax payments and related journal entries with the AP department
- Perform various tax-related projects and initiatives
- Support technology implementations, process improvements, and other efforts to increase the efficiency of the tax compliance function
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a Finance/Business related degree
- 2 to 5 years of experience working with internal departments and outside customers in an accounting or tax role
- Demonstrated ability to work in a company with a collaborative team-based environment
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as web-based applications
