The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) at SPA is seeking a Mid-Level Risk Analyst (CBRN) to enhance our support for various national security missions. This group specializes in delivering technical, programmatic, and analytical assistance to organizations such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Our expertise encompasses areas such as countering weapons of mass destruction, safeguarding critical infrastructure, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, and transportation safety.
Key Responsibilities:
The Mid-Level Risk Analyst will be tasked with providing advanced analytical support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The role requires applying systematic, science-based methodologies and critical thinking to enhance decision-making processes regarding preparation, response, and recovery from Weapons of Mass Destruction scenarios and disruptions to Critical Infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
- Engaging in a variety of modeling and analytical tasks, including model design, implementation, and operational oversight.
- Documenting model usage and ensuring data transformation and database schema design are executed effectively.
- Overseeing data quality assurance processes and assisting in the identification and prioritization of analyses related to CBRN and critical infrastructure disruption scenarios.
- Collaborating with diverse stakeholders to formulate actionable plans and timelines to meet established objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7-12 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, Java, C++, VBA, or SQL.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
- Experience in creating clear and compelling written and visual communications tailored to various audiences.
- Active DOD Secret clearance is mandatory.
Desired:
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Experience in quantitative risk analysis.
- Previous analytical support experience with the Department of Homeland Security.
