About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team at Doncaster Council. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a brand-new provision within our council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with mainstream teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to children with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, helping them to build positive relationships and develop essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to SEMH support.
Requirements
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in a related field.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, either in a SEMH setting, social care, or mental health context.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in mathematics or English, or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to supporting the aims of the council and the SEMH provision.
