Position Overview

About Children of America (COA)At COA, we pride ourselves on our diverse and dynamic community. Our lead educators play a crucial role in crafting engaging lesson plans and implementing our educational framework. You will collaborate with a skilled team of professionals in a nurturing atmosphere that fosters your growth and encourages your enthusiasm for early childhood education. Our programs cater to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care, and Summer Camp.

Key Interactions In this position, you will engage daily with an Assistant Teacher, children, parents, management, and fellow educators.

Qualifications Required

  • Must possess a CDA or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Adaptability in challenging circumstances
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development
  • Sound decision-making skills
  • Compliance with all state regulations for the role.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Implement a nurturing approach while delivering our developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Manage the needs of infants and toddlers at various developmental stages.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensure a safe and structured educational environment.
  • Show empathy towards children's feelings and parents' concerns.
  • Design daily lesson plans that promote the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills and utilize technology to report child progress to parents and other educators.
  • Set expectations that align with the child's age and developmental stage.
  • Be innovative, passionate about your role, and enjoy the process.
