Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Control Officer to serve within the Newport Beach Police Department. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of animals in our community.

Job Responsibilities:
- Enforce animal control laws and regulations.
- Respond to calls regarding animal-related incidents.
- Capture and transport stray or injured animals.
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership.

Selection Process:
The recruitment process includes an evaluation of applications, followed by interviews for the most qualified candidates. Successful applicants will be placed on an eligibility list and may proceed to the background investigation phase.

Work Schedule:
This position operates on a 10-hour shift schedule.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience working with animals.

Education:
Completion of high school or equivalent is required.

Licenses/Certifications:
- A valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is necessary due to field duties.
- Ability to obtain P.O.S.T PC 832 certification within one year of appointment.
