Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technician

Hamilton Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a vital member of our multi-veterinarian team, you will provide top-notch care to our patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough examinations, restrain patients, and review care plans and records
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccines, and providing wound care management
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment, including anesthesia machines and diagnostic imaging devices
  • Anesthetize animals and monitor anesthesia under the direction and supervision of the Veterinarian
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and dental imaging, as well as demonstrate and follow procedures in catheter placement and phlebotomy
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patients' conditions, reactions, and changes
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to develop new skills and further your knowledge base
  • Support the team in welcoming new employees and assist in the training process when needed
Requirements:
  • Must have RVT experience and certification (RVT, LVT, or CVT)
  • Confidence with anesthesia monitoring, dental assisting, and pre/post-op care
