Position Overview:

The Retail Pricing Specialist is tasked with formulating, executing, and assessing retail pricing methodologies for our corporate retail outlets and the recommended retail price frameworks for our independent retail partners. This role encompasses all facets of strategy formulation, implementation, pricing structure, standards, and guidelines. A crucial aspect of this position involves nurturing collaborative relationships with Category Managers and Business Planners to ensure pricing strategies align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across departments with Pricing leaders and the Merchandising team to spearhead the creation of pricing strategies for designated categories.
  • Conduct regular pricing evaluations to sustain a competitive pricing stance and enhance performance; the scope of reviews will vary based on item and category significance and performance metrics.
  • Develop analytical models to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing the performance of assigned categories, create and simulate scenarios, execute in-market trials, evaluate outcomes, secure consensus for strategic adjustments, and refine tools to support agreed modifications.
  • Monitor shifts in consumer behavior, performance metrics of assigned categories and overall store, and competitive dynamics to adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Establish and uphold pricing frameworks for assigned categories.
  • Engage with Independent Retail partners to offer insights and guidance on pricing best practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support pricing initiatives that span multiple functions. Lead and identify pricing projects within the team.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Business Administration, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience in the retail sector and/or supermarket industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities.
  • Innovative and self-driven.
  • Able to work independently on routine tasks and engage in special projects and initiatives.
  • Understanding of retail pricing strategies and principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to gather data, analyze trends, and make informed decisions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements may vary based on assignments.
