Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant. This role will provide support to our year-round State Park staff in the protection, maintenance, operation, and repair of state park lands, natural and cultural resources, structures, facilities, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the maintenance and operation of park facilities, including janitorial work, landscape maintenance, interpretation, and visitor services.
  • Perform basic tasks in a single area of park operations, such as custodial duties, landscape maintenance, or interpretation.
  • Guide the work of individuals or teams composed of volunteers, seasonal, and/or temporary state park employees.
  • Develop hands-on experience in park maintenance and operations, including basic skills in building trades, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and landscape maintenance.
Requirements:
  • 6 months of experience in public contact or customer service duties, or maintenance experience in construction trades, landscaping, or custodial work.
  • OR 6 months of college in any discipline.
  • Criminal records and driving records check that meets OPRD criteria at the time of hire and throughout employment.
  • Valid driver's license at the time of hire and throughout employment.
