Key Responsibilities

As a Chief Technology Officer, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Strategically planning and directing technology initiatives within the Information Technology Division to support the Department's mission.
  • Establishing a clear vision for IT infrastructure, policies, and services, ensuring the adoption of leading-edge technologies.
  • Acting as a catalyst for change, fostering collaboration across the agency and with external partners.
  • Encouraging and driving innovation to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Leading the formulation of the IT Technology Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic goals of the Department.
  • Conducting strategic sourcing assessments for technology products and services, continuously seeking optimization opportunities.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture to support governance and decision-making processes.
  • Guiding cross-functional teams in addressing business and operational challenges, from requirements gathering to product evaluation.
  • Reviewing and recommending technology platforms and systems that enhance operational capabilities.
  • Participating in governance and capital planning processes to ensure a coherent technology investment strategy.
  • Leading efforts in business process reengineering, particularly those driven by technological advancements.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a blend of general management skills and specialized technical expertise relevant to this senior-level position. Essential qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated experience in advanced Information Technology principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to advise senior management on IT matters and align projects with mission objectives.
  • Strong oral communication skills, capable of conveying complex information effectively.
  • Expertise in problem-solving, with a focus on evaluating alternatives and making informed recommendations.

Education

All academic qualifications must be from accredited institutions. Desired education includes undergraduate or graduate studies or equivalent experience.
