Position Summary: The Test Engineer II is tasked with supporting the engineering processes related to the evaluation, validation, and acceptance testing of spacecraft systems. This role requires collaboration within a team, including remote members, to engage in testing and support of flight electronics for spacecraft. Responsibilities will encompass the development of testing protocols, crafting automated testing scripts, designing test equipment, and executing tests adhering to aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate effectively in a dynamic team setting
  • Oversee the integration and testing of spacecraft systems
  • Create, review, and implement testing protocols
  • Utilize testing and measurement instruments to assess and troubleshoot hardware
  • Develop and refine automated testing scripts
  • Maintain accurate test engineering documentation
  • Adhere to a consistent work schedule
  • Foster positive working relationships across departments and units
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in hardware testing with tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
  • Experience in writing and executing both manual and automated testing procedures
  • Familiarity with programming languages including Matlab, Ruby, and Python
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative
  • Experience in spacecraft system integration and testing is preferred
  • Knowledge of electric motor design and testing is advantageous
  • Experience with embedded software is a plus
  • Familiarity with radiation testing of electronic components is desirable
  • Understanding of control systems and orbital mechanics is beneficial
  • Current or recent TS/SCI clearance is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Test Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant technical experience may substitute for formal education

Work Environment: This position is situated in a professional office atmosphere within a manufacturing context. Standard office equipment such as computers and phones will be utilized.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional requirements to stand, bend, reach, and walk. Light physical effort is needed, including the ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
