Position Summary: The Senior Test Engineer is tasked with facilitating test engineering activities related to the development, qualification, and acceptance testing of spacecraft systems. This role involves collaboration within a team environment, including remote team members, focusing on the testing and support of flight spacecraft electronics. Responsibilities will encompass the creation of test procedures, development of automated test scripts, design of test equipment, and execution of tests adhering to aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in a dynamic team setting
- Oversee the integration and testing of spacecraft systems
- Draft, review, and implement test procedures
- Utilize test and measurement tools for hardware testing and troubleshooting
- Develop and enhance test scripts
- Maintain essential test engineering documentation

- Employ various testing methodologies to ensure system verification and validation
- Prepare comprehensive test plans, procedures, and reports to demonstrate compliance with system requirements
- Interpret schematics and service manuals while applying logical troubleshooting techniques
- Potentially manage personnel responsibilities
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in hardware testing with tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Experience in creating and executing manual and automated test procedures
- Familiarity with programming languages including Matlab, Ruby (COSMOS), and Python
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
- Experience in spacecraft system integration and testing
- Solid understanding of engineering principles
- Background in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Knowledge of electric motor design and testing (preferred)
- Experience with embedded software (preferred)
- Familiarity with radiation testing of electrical components (preferred)
- Understanding of control systems and orbital mechanics (preferred)
- Possession of a TS/SCI clearance (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years in Test Engineering or a related discipline
- Relevant technical experience may substitute for formal education
Work Environment:
This position operates within a professional office atmosphere, integrated into a manufacturing context. Standard office equipment such as computers and phones will be utilized.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands for this role include the ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing, bending, and walking. Light physical effort is required, including the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
