Job Summary

Blue Canyon Technologies, a leading manufacturer of small satellites and mission services provider, is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager II to support the company's spacecraft product line. The successful candidate will drive capture planning and management of capture campaigns, streamline competitive proposal processes, and engage with customers to prepare support artifacts for proposal responses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead capture and proposal campaigns in collaboration with the Business Development Team.
  • Review and evaluate RFI/RFP response requirements and assess strategy for responding to customer requests.
  • Lead cross-functional proposal teams to deliver on-time, competitive proposals.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and RFIs/RFPs with support from the product and engineering teams.
  • Support both spacecraft and components product lines, monitoring customer inquiry inboxes and helping to adjudicate responses.
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools for emerging and near-term contracts.
  • Support the transition of new contracts with the corresponding product and functional teams.
  • Promote information sharing across lines of business to capture market share and inform product roadmaps.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Understand and follow business capture processes, identify improvements, and areas to streamline, coordinate with engineering and product areas to improve proposal bid processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 4-5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Fundamental understanding and motivation for the aerospace/space industry.
  • Proficient working on interdisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and willingness to share and transfer knowledge.
  • Experience working with and understanding program management and technical concepts to develop cost, schedule, and technical concepts for proposals.
  • Experience with commercial RFP/RFI response processes, including short-turn proposal responses.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to collect and create compelling proposal content and detailed responses.
  • Ability to help prioritize prospective business in a fast-paced environment.
  • Holds a variety of technical and professional skills.
  • Strong problem solver and self-motivated.
  • Continues to learn from more seasoned team members.
  • Expertise with MS Office.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly desired.
Working Conditions

This role operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. The successful candidate will use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other office tools.
