Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finishing Operations Manager to join our team at Amcor plc. As a key member of our finishing department, you will be responsible for overseeing the gluing operation and ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that all gluing operations are carried out efficiently and effectively, with a focus on quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and motivate a team of gluing department employees, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all products meet the required standards, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including planning and production, to ensure that all operations are aligned and that products are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, operations management) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a gluing operation or related field, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team; basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights, and measures.
Working Conditions

This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, and/or reaching, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing, and speaking. Frequent lifting in excess of 60 lbs is required. Must be able to hold, touch, feel, and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required. Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus as well as good eye-hand coordination. Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
