Job Purpose: Collection and preparation of paper waste for recycling processes.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Sort and load paper waste into baling equipment from storage containers.
  2. Utilize both automatic and manual baling machines in accordance with established protocols.
  3. Operate industrial forklifts for the transportation of paper waste containers and bales.
  4. Monitor scales to confirm the weight of bales produced.
  5. Identify and document the specific material grade and weight for each bale.
  6. Load finished products, including recyclable corrugated materials, onto designated trailers for shipping.
  7. Ensure proper loading of trucks while adhering to weight restrictions.
  8. Promptly inform the Accounting Assistant when a salvage truck is ready for pick-up.
  9. Alert a supervisor immediately when maintenance or repairs are needed for baling machines.
  10. Manage waste disposal.
  11. Maintain cleanliness in the Baler Room, baling machines, and designated recycling storage areas within the facility.
  12. Responsibilities include standing for the majority of the shift, working at a high pace, operating a forklift, handling large containers and bales, and potentially working overtime.
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management as needed.
  14. Execute all responsibilities in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
