Tesla Collision is on the lookout for a dynamic individual with a strong track record in overseeing teams and processes to contribute to one of the most innovative automotive brands globally. The Back of House Manager for our Collision Center will spearhead our shop floor teams. In this capacity, you will be tasked with guiding a motivated group of technicians while ensuring an exceptional service experience through the achievement of outstanding results and operational excellence within our collision facilities. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of production methodologies and collision shop operations, employing analytical thinking and root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective leadership and mentorship to assigned technical staff to meet quality and service delivery objectives. Maintain accurate shop records and inventory levels. Ensure a seamless workflow within the collision center.
  • Act as the process leader for shop operations, ensuring that work standards are established and continuously enhanced with input from collision technicians and the broader collision center team. Inspire, coach, and cultivate a highly engaged team of technicians.
  • Verify that work standards and available engineering protocols are up-to-date and accurate, ensuring all tasks are executed in compliance to maximize quality. Supervise adherence to safety regulations and the collision center's safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to address technical and personnel challenges. Schedule staff effectively to meet collision repair demands while accommodating vacation and other time-off requests in line with company policies.
  • Responsible for selecting team members and ensuring they receive necessary training. Conduct regular one-on-one developmental meetings with team members to support their professional growth and career advancement. Assess training needs of the team and individuals, coordinating training as necessary in collaboration with training resources.
  • Facilitate effective daily communication to align all team members towards common objectives. Relay any issues affecting the service center and overall service organization to employees.
  • Partner with the Collision Manager to enhance and expand shop production in alignment with company goals. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Collision Manager to support business operations.
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience or technical knowledge in the collision industry is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience in a collision-centric environment is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain accountability for quality and quantity. Capable of managing multiple priorities and achieving set goals. Proficient in leading group problem-solving initiatives and swiftly developing solutions.
  • Able to effectively engage with customers as necessary.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • One to three years of supervisory or similar leadership experience is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and understanding of repair estimates is beneficial.
  • Valid Driver's License is preferred.
