We are looking for motivated individuals to step into the role of Temporary Food Service Supervisor. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced food service environment, specifically within our food court operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the scheduling and staffing of the assigned dining location.
  • Lead and mentor temporary staff members.
  • Support the opening and closing procedures of the unit as directed by the supervisor.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system accurately, adhering to cash handling protocols.
  • Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed.
  • Help with receiving and stocking merchandise.
  • Contribute to various areas of the unit as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of NC State Dining.

This is an hourly position with a defined assignment period. Outstanding performance may lead to opportunities for renewal or advancement.

NC State Dining serves the campus community, offering a wide range of food services to students, staff, and faculty. Our operations include multiple cafes, food courts, dining halls, convenience stores, and catering services, employing a diverse workforce.

Work Schedule: Full and part-time hours are available, with shifts varying based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role.

  • Possess intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn new software.

This position requires physical stamina, including standing for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Candidates should be prepared to work in varying temperature conditions typical of food service environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in a high-volume food service setting.
  • Experience with cash handling.

Certifications:

  • Serv Safe certification is a plus.
