Each day presents unique challenges as you implement preventative maintenance, conduct equipment repairs, ensure thorough cleaning, and uphold safety standards and regulations. This role encompasses regular inspections of the Fitness & Wellness Center's premises, including the building, grounds, and equipment. You will take charge of all repair tasks, liaising with vendors and coordinating with contractors to guarantee compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Additionally, you will manage financial aspects, overseeing your budget while evaluating equipment and facility requirements alongside capital reserve resources. You will also take on Manager On Duty responsibilities as needed.

- Oversees the cleanliness and maintenance of both interior and exterior facilities to ensure quality standards are consistently met, in compliance with all local laws and health guidelines.
- Conducts weekly maintenance assessments with the leadership team to review the status of ongoing projects.
- Supervises, schedules, and inspects maintenance and cleaning personnel, including housekeepers and subcontractors.
- Demonstrates proficiency in handling cleaning chemicals and solutions to ensure the safety of staff, guests, and members.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance schedule and documents repairs in a maintenance log, including all equipment components.
- Responds promptly to equipment malfunctions, ordering parts and utilizing expedited shipping when necessary.
- Remains available during off-hours to address facility emergencies as they arise.
- Performs electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs that do not require a certified technician.
- Handles minor carpentry, painting, and construction tasks as needed.
- Monitors and maintains proper lighting throughout the facility, anticipating replacement needs.
- Collaborates with subcontractors to ensure proper maintenance of pool equipment and maintains a testing log.
- Seasonally removes and replaces pool covers, monitoring for potential damage during adverse weather conditions.
- Ensures the safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of outdoor areas and accessibility of parking facilities.
- Maintains accurate records and administration of invoices, project bids, and work orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion.
- Manages inventory of cleaning supplies and paper products, sourcing competitively priced options within budget constraints, utilizing preferred vendors.
- Conducts daily inspections of the facility to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- Assists the Executive Director in developing and executing an annual capital reinvestment strategy.
- Participates in weekly management meetings to foster effective team management of facility operations.
- Actively engages in quarterly safety inspections and audits.
- Assumes Manager On Duty responsibilities as required.
- Attends safety committee meetings and training sessions, potentially coordinating and facilitating additional safety initiatives as assigned.
Ideally, candidates will possess 2 to 5 years of experience in construction, painting, general maintenance, and repairs of both interior and exterior facilities, along with a solid understanding of HVAC systems, general cleaning practices, light plumbing, and electrical work. Experience in maintaining a variety of equipment in optimal working condition and the ability to replace parts and belts on fitness equipment is essential. Candidates should have supervisory experience, demonstrating effective communication, motivation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel), is required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
The Supervisor will work in a professional health club setting, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor projects. The role involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching, lifting, and climbing. Occasional travel may be necessary for various company activities, networking events, training sessions, or to procure supplies and materials essential for facility maintenance.
