Position Summary
This role is dedicated to fulfilling the passenger service requirements of airlines for officially recognized disabled travelers and to aid non-disabled individuals seeking wheelchair assistance. The nature of passenger service roles emphasizes high-quality customer interaction, with the potential for additional income through tips for exemplary service.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety protocols at all times (e.g., maneuver wheelchairs at a safe speed, remain vigilant of other passengers and equipment, transport only one wheelchair at a time, and use appropriate techniques when navigating ramps).
- Engage with passengers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide assistance to passengers to ensure a positive experience (including offering directions, sharing flight information, and addressing unique situations such as delays).
- Follow all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening procedures and requirements.
Essential Duties
- Safely escort passengers between gates, curbs, or other designated areas based on their needs.
- Assist passengers at baggage claim when required.
- Work closely with dispatchers to receive assignments as necessary.
- Collaborate with gate agents to support wheelchair users during the boarding process.
- Document any incidents or unusual occurrences during passenger transport with detailed reports.
