Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist IV - CT to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including CT scans, to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, explaining procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring optimal views of the specified area of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and the portion of the body involved, and adjust equipment controls to produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides, and assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control, and perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff, and complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Orient new hires and train students, and fill in as necessary in the absence of the Supervising Radiology Technologist.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in CT or one year of experience in CT with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in CT.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, and effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
  • Ability to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment and willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
