Position Overview

Role Summary:

Under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, the Senior CT Technologist is responsible for performing advanced radiographic imaging procedures that aid physicians in diagnosing various medical conditions. This role involves operating sophisticated imaging equipment to generate high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct specialized and routine diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy by explaining procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Utilize immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging results as per physician requests.
  • Determine appropriate exposure factors based on patient specifics and imaging requirements.
  • Adjust equipment settings to produce images with the necessary detail and accuracy.
  • Operate mobile imaging equipment in various clinical settings.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized imaging examinations.
  • Prepare images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
  • Process images and conduct quality control checks for proper identification.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on imaging equipment, coordinating major repairs as needed.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Provide orientation and training for new staff and students.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
  • This position does not include supervisory duties.

Qualifications:
Experience

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a CT specialty or one year with ARRT certification in the specialty.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate.
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • ACLS certification as required for the role.
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and fluoroscopic duties across all age groups.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to work within a Labor Management Partnership environment.
