Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing electromechanical and hydromechanical actuation design solutions for commercial and defense-related aircraft flight control and utility actuation applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop system architecture definition based on required system functionality and performance.
  • Perform actuation system simulation modeling and control system design using Matlab/Simulink to predict integrated system response dynamics and operating performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply requirements database using IBM DOORS to show traceability to customer requirements, support the validation and verification process, and generate lower-tier component specifications.
  • Develop and maintain system and component requirement specifications and system interface documents in support of the development of software and FPGA-based digital controllers.
  • Perform analysis to define loading and performance characteristics in support of detailed design of components, major assemblies, software, and systems.
  • Work within product development teams to support equipment mechanical and electronic design and development from initial proposal through qualification phase.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience.
  • Experience in requirements management and IBM DOORS software.
  • Understanding of system engineering principles and methodology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink simulation modeling environment.
  • Experience with MS (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
