We are seeking an experienced Account Category Manager to join our Sales Team. This role will be responsible for analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and developing accurate forecasts to support our organization's strategic decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze historical data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can be used to improve forecasting accuracy
- Provide support for ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests from various departments
- Maintain price lists and communicate changes to Sales and Customer Service staff
- Work closely with the Finance department to ensure vendor payments reflect Business Entity Rules (BERs), price protections, and allowances
- Engage with customer/retailer buyers, Purchasing, Finance, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
- Participate in vendor meetings and presentations to customer/retailer
- Act as a category consultant with customer/retailer through assortment and inventory recommendations
- Communicate and follow up with vendor shipment discrepancies or customer-level issues affecting their business
- Ensure vendor is billed accordingly for special projects outside of normal S2G service offerings and that vendor expectations mirror company capabilities
- Store-level sales detail planning and forecasting
- Retail script/PO writing by store
- Collaborate with Operations on shipping, POD, and retail compliance
- Regular analysis of company inventory to maintain weeks on hand targets
- Question and challenge vendor on unrealistic inventory demands and elevate as necessary
- Ensure customer replenishment orders are filled in a timely fashion
- Coordinate payments (CIA or otherwise) where applicable to ensure timely product flow
- Analyze special buys and offers to ensure company profitability
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field strongly preferred or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, forecasting, or a similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and draw meaningful insights
- Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, or Excel
- Knowledge of forecasting methodologies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
