Job Title: Revenue Tax Officer

Join the Louisiana Department of Revenue as a Revenue Tax Officer and play a critical role in ensuring the state's tax laws are enforced. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting delinquent taxes, examining taxpayer accounts, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect delinquent taxes through personal contact or by garnishing wages, levying on bank accounts, filing tax liens, seizing property, revoking licenses, or cease and desist orders.
  • Examine taxpayer accounts to determine delinquent taxes owed and take necessary actions to collect such taxes.
  • Work with taxpayers, accountants, CPAs, and attorneys to obtain Statements of Financial Condition and all necessary documentation needed to request an Offer of Compromise.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on accounts in which returns are being recommended for acceptance after the assessment has become final.
Requirements:
  • A baccalaureate degree.
  • Substitutions: Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.
