Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Drainage Engineer to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading drainage design engineering work and collaborating with internal design teams to deliver high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review drawings for final design, construction, detour, and erosion control.
  • Prepare and review design reports.
  • Act as the primary interface with internal design teams and clients.
  • Lead drainage and hydrology aspects of projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to execute projects across the state.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand our Drainage practice.
  • Perform drainage and hydrology design and review of culvert systems for roadways.
  • Oversee the civil design team's technical deliverables and meeting project schedules.
  • Ensure the highest quality of engineering is put forth to meet all design criteria requirements.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • 15+ years or more of related work experience in Drainage/Hydrology design, including project management or supervisory/managerial experience of engineers, and designers.
  • Interest and ability to function as a leadership capacity.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
  • Experience directing work involving complex technical situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience with VA/MD/DC clients is required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, Micro Station Geopak and/or InRoads.
