Position Overview

As an Electrical Systems Commissioning Specialist at Vertiv, you will be responsible for executing field commissioning activities for electrical systems, including those of moderate complexity. Your role will involve collaboration with mechanical systems and the thorough inspection, testing, and documentation of results. This position demands a high level of concentration and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while working with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of commissioning for electrical power distribution systems.
  • Engage in the Owners Project Requirements (OPR) process and contribute to documentation efforts.
  • Conduct commissioning design reviews and provide insightful feedback.
  • Evaluate submittal documents for compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and review pre-functional and functional forms upon completion.
  • Participate in design, construction, commissioning, and progress meetings as necessary.
  • Develop comprehensive commissioning requirements and project specifications.
  • Monitor and report on issues, employing effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training programs for team members.
  • Participate in Integrated Systems Tests (IST) and contribute to the development of Systems Manuals.
  • Assist in creating preventative maintenance plans and compiling commissioning reports.
  • Provide robust project management and represent Vertiv in technical discussions.
  • Lead small to moderately sized commissioning projects, ensuring effective communication and updates.
  • Maintain adherence to project schedules and foster strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and expansion efforts.

Education & Certifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Completion of applicable Commissioning Technical Training with a minimum of two years of experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with five years of relevant experience.

Requirements

Candidates should possess:

  • Knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning industry standards.
  • Preferred commissioning certification from recognized institutions.
  • Familiarity with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) process.
