Position Overview
Kansas Action for Children is seeking a skilled Solar Project Commissioning Lead to join our dynamic team. The Commissioning Lead will be responsible for supervising all commissioning processes at designated utility solar installations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Commissioning Technicians while embracing our Management Philosophy.
- Oversee commissioning tasks across various projects, including electrical assessments, troubleshooting, and developing site-specific commissioning schedules and procedures.
- Analyze contracts, subcontracts, and project schematics to ensure compliance with deliverables and internal commissioning standards.
- Implement and uphold Kansas Action for Children Safety Procedures and Protocols.
- Engage in regular interactions with peer departments, subcontractors, and clients, including providing necessary training.
- Prepare project plans for the management of materials and tools as required.
- Maintain detailed commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and safety documentation.
- Coordinate and execute energization, start-up, and troubleshooting of substations and field equipment, including developing methods and procedures.
- Travel as needed to project sites, up to 50% of the time.
Project Site Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capability to sit, stand, walk short distances, and climb stairs occasionally.
- Frequent lifting and handling of materials, with a maximum weight of 40 lbs.
- Compliance with all safety standards and procedures is mandatory.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height and below waist level frequently, including kneeling or bending.
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience in commissioning or construction environments.
- Proficiency in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience in reviewing contracts, subcontracts, and technical drawings.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in utility-scale power generation.
- Familiarity with medium voltage A/C, high voltage A/C, and/or high voltage D/C systems.
- Knowledge of SCADA infrastructure.
- NETA Level II or III Certification.
