Building Official Assistant

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Building Official to assist in the administration and enforcement of the State of Connecticut Building Codes and related regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Performs inspection, review, and enforcement duties to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Provides lead supervision in inspecting, reviewing, and accepting plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, fire protection, and ancillary installations.
- Investigates complaints of building code violations and takes corrective action.
- Provides technical consultation to town departments and commissions as needed.
- Certified as an Assistant Building Official, Section of the Connecticut General Statutes.
- Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- P-2 and P1 (licensed for at least 2 years minimum).
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent, and five (5) years of experience in general construction and related fields.
