Responsibilities
  • Create a nurturing and engaging learning environment that fosters the growth and development of young children.
  • Build strong relationships with families and colleagues to create a collaborative and dynamic environment that supports children's learning and well-being.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times, being alert to their individual and collective needs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with our developmental goals, working closely with teacher assistants to apply instructional strategies.
  • Plan and execute activities and projects that promote children's learning in Jewish culture, holidays, and values.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to maintain a well-organized and clutter-free classroom, adhering to Early Childhood and MBJCC policies.
  • Prepare and serve snacks to children, promoting socialization and mealtime routines.
  • Stay informed about and adhere to all relevant policies, including those outlined in the MBJCC Employee Handbook and ECA Preschool Staff Handbook.
  • Maintain punctual and consistent attendance, keeping preschool administration informed of any special needs or concerns.
  • Update records as required by applicable laws, district policies, and preschool regulations, and may administer tests and evaluations to monitor student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, setup/cleanup days, and team planning meetings, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and experiences.
