Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young children and their families.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Early Childhood Educator to lead our Head Start/Early Head Start classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that promote educational and enrichment activities for preschool-age children.
  • Screen and assess children to determine developmental and educational needs, and develop individual education plans.
  • Monitor meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment for young children.
  • Communicate with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, and telephone to apprise them of their child's progress.
  • Conduct health checks on children and report any concerns to the Health Coordinator.
  • Ensure that lessons and classroom activities align with the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Standards.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, preschool, or kindergarten-age children.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Successful completion of a Level II background screening, health, TB, and drug screening.
