Orthopedic Care Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team in the Inpatient Orthopedic Spine Surgery unit at Bon Secours St. Marys Hospital in Richmond, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, and patient education to optimize care for orthopedic, spine, and joint patients.
- Conduct daily rounds with physicians to review and address patient progress in alignment with clinical pathways and best practices.
- Act as a liaison among consulting physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services, independently ordering necessary services to facilitate patient care.
- Collaborate with Care Managers for discharge planning, including writing prescriptions, medication reconciliation, and providing discharge instructions and summaries.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient assessments, problems, and management plans.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance quality and continuity of care.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM or 4 ten-hour shifts
- Average Patients per Day: 10-25
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent qualification for Physician Assistant.
- Current NP or PA license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
