We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Triage Nurse to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring seamless communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Job Summary

This is a full-time opportunity working Monday through Friday with an 8am-5pm schedule. You will work in a dynamic outpatient setting, utilizing your strong clinical skills and experience to deliver high-quality care to patients with various orthopedic conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Triage: Assess and prioritize cases, provide medical advice, make complex referrals, and handle patient telephone inquiries and walk-ins requesting care.
  • Telephone Consults: Evaluate patient calls, determine the need for immediate or sub-acute evaluation, and provide pre-operative instruction to patients and post-surgical follow-up care.
  • Continuity of Care: Coordinate with social services when needed, recognize adverse signs and symptoms, and react quickly in emergency situations.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform basic nursing procedures, such as injections, phlebotomy, and dressing changes; assist physicians during examinations as needed.
Requirements
  • Current license to practice nursing in the state
  • Minimum six months of recent experience as a professional nurse
  • Orthopedic and OR operating room experience preferred
  • BLS CPR certification required
