We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Corrections Deputy to join our team at Itasca County, MN. As a key member of our law enforcement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our community by supervising adult offenders in multiple correctional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and control security functions and activities related to the care, custody, and well-being of inmates.
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of correctional facilities, including maintaining order and discipline among inmates.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and respond to emergencies and security breaches.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community partners to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
- Minimum 6 months of experience working as a correctional officer in a jail, prison, juvenile facility, or military detainee services.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in direct client services, mental health, law enforcement, or protective services.
The normal work day and work week shall consist of 12 hours per day and 80 hours per pay period, based on a consistent schedule procedure, overtime as necessary and approved.
