Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in professional development aligned with school mission and student needs, staying current with best practices and research-based interventions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues, maintaining open and transparent relationships to ensure student success.
  • Adhere to timelines for paperwork and documentation, ensuring accurate and timely completion of required forms and reports.
  • Supervise special education associate teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective instruction and student outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill non-instructional duties, such as morning supervision, advisory, and bus duty, as assigned by the Director of Student Services or Principal.
  • Maintain professionalism, adhering to attendance, punctuality, dress, and communication standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services or Principal, supporting the overall mission and goals of United Staff Group.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Massachusetts licensure in Special Education (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, 1-5).
  • Knowledge of state and federal Special Education regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.
  • Experience working with diverse student backgrounds, including students with varying abilities and needs.
  • Collaborative and flexible, with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail, with a commitment to student-centered practice.
