Position OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will play a critical role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student, using evidence-based practices and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective implementation of IEP goals and accommodations in the general education setting.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote student learning and achievement.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and determine eligibility for special education services, in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
- Participate in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and discuss instructional strategies and support services.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Oregon teaching license with Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
