The Sales Associate plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to customers in a dynamic retail environment. This position involves actively listening to customer needs, providing precise information, and offering tailored product recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by attentively addressing customer inquiries.
- Guide customers to suitable products based on their specific requirements.
- Enhance customer confidence through comprehensive product knowledge and assistance regarding selection, usage, and installation.
- Execute sales counter operations, including order processing and pricing inquiries.
- Handle customer phone inquiries courteously, ensuring accurate information is provided.
Merchandising and Inventory Management:
- Organize merchandise on shelves according to established guidelines.
- Recommend new products to management based on customer feedback.
- Assist in inventory management tasks, including cycle counting and restocking.
- Maintain an orderly and appealing sales area.
- Notify customers about new product arrivals and store promotions.
Safety and Loss Prevention:
- Understand and implement company security protocols.
- Remain vigilant against theft and report suspicious activities to management.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and participate in safety meetings.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in retail sales or customer service. Essential skills include basic math, reading, writing, and effective communication. A friendly demeanor, problem-solving capabilities, and organizational skills are vital. Familiarity with hardware products is preferred, along with the ability to lift and handle merchandise up to 50 lbs. A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
