Position Overview:

The Department of Corrections is actively seeking a full-time, non-permanent Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) to support our mission of enhancing public safety through effective supervision and accountability of individuals under our jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee individuals on community supervision, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and agency policies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, administer assessments, and manage case documentation.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to engage with supervised individuals, promoting positive behavioral changes.
  • Enforce supervision conditions and provide accurate documentation for legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the reintegration of supervised individuals into the community.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to carry and utilize a department-issued firearm.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license in the State of Washington.
  • Experience working with individuals with criminal backgrounds and understanding of related behaviors.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience in corrections, counseling, or law enforcement.
  • Additional qualifications for CCO2 placement include one year of experience as a Community Corrections Officer or equivalent educational background.
